Soft-Sampler with built-in Waveform Editor for Logic?

I'm trying to do some composing in Logic, and want to bring in some of my MPC workflow. The EXS24 is not doing much for me, it seems awkward to use. Especially the sample editing (start points, loops points, etc).

Is anyone getting an MPC-like sampler workflow in software? I'm open to trying a new plugin.

I'd highly recommend Ableton's Simpler (yes simpler, that's its name)... although that would mean having to install more software.

Battery 3 sounds perfect. Could anyone compare the sample playback/editing to Ableton/Simpler?

I would also recommend battery (or Kontakt, which also has an editor built in). Simpler only works within Ableton, its not a plugin you can use in other DAWs, so you would have to use rewire to sync ableton up to Logic. Its doable but I personally don't think its worth the hassle.

I watched some Battery videos on youtube,, Decided I'm gonna cop @ Guitar center with a 10 percent coupon today. Seems dope as hell for 90 bucks.

It looks like you can do non-destrutive time stretch AND pitch shift for each cell. I hope this is legit. This is something I've been dreaming about,,,

very good for 90 bucks. sound library is interesting to me, plus it is a really good sampler.

I did cop Battery 3 though,, and the non-destructive pitch shift IS pretty sweet.

That was a good buy. They just added the emulation of the SP1200 and MPC60 from Maschine into Battery 3.1 too. That will make a lot of people happy. It's up to each to decide how authentic it is or even if not, if they like it. I personally think that it adds an "usable colour", even if not exact...the SP emulation anyway. It also takes full advantage of multi CPUs now. If you haven't gotten it, go update (if you don't have one of the setups that's having the installation problems. I didn't).
