Hi all,
I've just come to the end of a mammoth sampling project, I've gone through ALL the vinyl I own and building up a huge collection of samples on my MPC1K. I've gone through all the samples and trimmed any non-useful stuff from the start and end of each, so am pretty much ready to finally get started on doing something productive.
My question is, how do you guys organise the samples on your MPC? Do you file all kits (kick, snare, hat etc) under separate folders?...and then what about all those breaks and longer samples, alphabetically or by bpm or style? at the moment I've stuck them all under an alphabetic folder structure but I'm interested to hear what other people are doing.
Now I've finished the process of trimming samples my wine intake might ease off a bit. I was finding myself taking a congratulatory slurp of vino after successfully trimming the start and end of each sample! It meant that at the start of a session, the samples were pretty neatly done, after an hour or two they are a little sloppy!
