MPC2500... Track Mute Recording?

I had this problem before, but only once, and I just dealt with it and worked around it when it came time to track the beat out. But its back again and I would like to know how to prevent it, correct it, or at least know why its happening.

I know much of what happened, but my track are muting and unmuting themselves during playback. I don't know if I recorded some track mute automation, but if so, how do I correct this? Because even when I track to mute a track during tracking, everything just plays the "automation" and all the tracks unmute themselves. This is happening with JJ OS 3.10.

you accidentally recorded some track mutes. you have to go into STEP edit and delete the TRACK MUTE events one by one. switch view to TRACK MUTE in the STEP EDIT screen to make this easier.

in the future, make sure in the TRACK MUTE screen that 'Use events' is set to OFF. and don't be doing muting & unmuting when you're recording or overdubbing anything.
