Mpc and music samples on you tube

Hi, I would be very grateful of some information. I have made a few songs with 1000 mpc and using samples of muisc of recoreded artists. I have one song I would love to put just on you tube. It is a song with a 6 second sample with me rapping over it . If i place this on you tube. Would this be illegal. Could i be sued by the artist for not asking permision. The sample of music is not well known, its six seconds at the end of a song before the song fades out .Any advice welcome

no... the worst they can do is:

1) have it taken down (maybe) however unless it is owned by viacom it is highly unlikely that it will happen.

2) they might be able to sue youtube, but 99.99999% chance they wont.


you aren't selling it, nobody will probably notice it, if they do, they probably wont care because you making 0 dollars off of it means they will probably make even more 0 dollars off of it.

Thanks for the advice. Is this very common on you tube, do many people place music on you tube sampling other peoples music, . What about setting up my myspace account, is it illegal, can you be sued for making music using other artists music as a sample without asking permission on myspace.Thanx

nobody in the entire world will care unless you are making a fortune. you probably wont, because people who do make a fortune already know all this stuff.

The worst they can do is take it off your page... they will simply delete it.

Unless you make money off it they can't really get anything outa you. Only youtube can take it off since its against their rules to put music on without a license to it.
