Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i got a 2000xl and i'm looking to buy a sound module. just one quick question before a drop a grand on something. when i buy a sound module (right now i'm looking at the triton le rackmount), in order to use the sounds in the module like a keyboard i would also have to buy a midi controller keyboard right (like a $200 midi man)? would i plug the midi controller keyboard into the "thru" of the sound module, then plug the sound module into the mpc via midi "in" and "out"?

I dont know much about sound modules, i've always just pluged a synth into the mpc via midi. But i'm looking to buy a rackmount sound module and a small midi controller keyboard to save space. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on a good midi controller or some good sound modules i'd be interested in that info.

thanks,
jd

basically yes, you would need a midi controller keyboard too. the midiman/m-audio oxygen 8 is great if you want a small one. I just got their new radium-49 which is a 49 key controller and also has 8 assignable sliders and 8 assignable knobs for controlling things. i really dig it. they also have a 61 key radium for only $20 more.
