Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Ok, it sounds like the MV is good for the technical ****. It also seems like there's some criticism of the xl, my question is, between the 2000 and the xl which one is ideal?

Mr Average, the line from my sig is from Count Bass D's album Dwight Spitz. If you haven't heard it yet you should check it out, it's NICE!!

BlackestB, the XL is the improved version of the 2000, so the only difference is a slightly different case, and a few extra features such as timestretch. Some people prefer the 2000, but most of the people think XL is the better one (which it is, spec-wise). If I had gotten the 2000 for cheap I would've copped it, there's really not that much of a difference.. But I got the XL and I'm happy with it, I do use timestretch to some effect and I've grown used to the extra features.

Anyway if you can get the 2000 for cheap then go for it, but don't pay for it as much as you would pay for the XL!

Ill say this the mpc 2000 and xl are only worth the money used now days. If you was to buy a stock model mpc for 1299 and fully loaded it with the outputs, effects, memory and cd rom, youll pretty much be paying the same price if not more than what the mv 8000 cost 1799. I really do think akai need to put something better in that price range cause before anybody thinks 4k they gona check out the mv once they look over the 1k and 2kxl. Hell bring back the 3k and put it there.....i know i would cop it.

another thing i have learn from these big electronic gear companies in my short time buying gear is that the first one is never the right one. Akai has done it. Roland keep doing it. yamaha burn me on the one they did. Im just re fresh yall on what i know. The motif classic came out and if you look at the motif es youll see that this is everything they should did the first time. The rolan fantom S wasnt even out for a year or so before they just launch x and xr fantoms. Akai has did it with the mpc series from the 2000 to 2000 xl and they need to do with the 4k. Ima wait to see if roland gona drop the ball and just come out with something even better. If so i think whats better would be better for me to get or if not then the price drops on the mv will great.
