the MPC 3000 may say in midi terms that it is triggering at Bar 1, Beat 2, Tick 7 and the MPC 2500 may be triggering at the same midi position, but if you do a test and record the audio and then analyse it a sample accurate editor such as sound forge / wavelab / etc you may find that they actually occur at different times, which could be down to a several things such as the clock of the MPC itself, or internal calculations as to when a certain tick should be triggered timewise, or how the calculation based on the swing setting works.

It's irrelevant if you know what kind of swing you want and know how to achieve it.

Why are you misquoting me?

and i agree it is largely irrelevant if you know how to achieve the swing you want with the machine/software you have.

there are a multitude of different ways.
