How many of you guys use stand alone recorders?

I just sold my Roland VS 2400 and bought a Korg D3200. I was contemplating getting an iMac and interface, but I've always used stand alone multitrack recorders and the times I've used a computer, I really haven't given it a fair go and wasn't pleased with the results.

Who's still rocking a mult irack recorder?

i used to rock the korg, and when i switched to the computer it took some patience configuring my interface and hardware to my program, but with all the vst effects its worth it to me.

I have Ableton Intro and a Macbook but I still use and prefer my old Roland VS 880EX.

That little screen on the D3200 is kinda annoying and makes using the joy stick somewhat erratic.
If you plan to keep it you need to had the VGA retrofit.
It gives a clearer view and makes the navigation flow better.

I still use a yamaha aw16g. Just bought a couple of patchbays this week after close to 6 years of plugging and unplugging mad cables. I'm loving the patchbays right now!

I'm planning to buy a Boss BR600. I think it will be a useful tool as I also play bass and guitar.

the BR series does have some nice effects for guitars,

I'm the old school kat around here. So my first recorder was a tascam 644, then moved up to the 688, and finally an alesis xt20.

The only real purpose for the alesis was to transfer tracks to and from the daw. But it became an added set of available tracks once I started working the daw more.

My homie I sold my first D3200 to already bought the VGA kit, and he loves it. I definitely plan to buy the kit. One of the reasons I sold my first D3200 was because I wanted one of the Rolands with motorized faders, VGA out, mouse input and a few more features.

I was really disappointed with the workflow and I can't wait till Wednesday when my D3200 arrives!

yeah kool. I am using a korg D1200mk2 so its the little brother of the 3200 OP has. running for a few years and has been great.

Tascam DP01 - Had it since 2004, still using it and only 1,000 minutes of recording time left on the HD. Before that I had the Tascam 414mkII, I still have that too.

Using a zoom hd8 here. I like my computer for mixing, but getting things recorded I prefer a standalone.

Had a DPS12i a few years back. Didn't spend too much time with it but I remember liking the AD converters on that thing.
