I'd imagine you'd need to go in to your My Computer and click on the drive. Did you tell the MPC to link with the computer?

Have you upgraded the OS to 1.31?

Are your CF cards formatted to the MPC?

If the answer to both of those is yes, chances are there is a problem with the CF card. It may be not installed correctly (not pushed all the way in), or could be corrupt.

There also could be a problem with the unit itself, but that is a small possibility. If the unit and cards were bought second hand I would get a new CF card and check it out.

I cant upgrade if it wont bring the drive up. It just tells me click the icon to remove the usb. it wont reconize a usb drive. But on a mac it will? I just wanna put my samples on ??? all my samples are playing that came with the cf card

I just relized the wav files need to be 16bit 44.1 khz mono? or stereo?
Whats the best wav chopping programs? or any programs that work good with the samples for the mpc? ???

Mine does the same thing and its frustrating as hell and i can't even format my CF card cause when i try it just says system error and I know my card is perfectly fine cause i tested it. but i hear audacity is good and it's free. I use Sony Acid.

Perhaps it has something to do with the drivers for your USB ports. Check if any of them need updating and have another go.

It can be mono or stereo.

There's no such thing as the best, it's personal preference. Audacity as previously mentioned is good, and also free. Recycle is also another popular option.

MPC Maid is another useful tool that you should look into.

dude, i`d recommend you to try 2 things (well, actually 3 but the 3rd one is to check device manager):

1. connect it with another pc (if you only have one try one of your friends PCs...). if it works, the source of the problem is clear - your pc. if it does not work it might be the unit or the cf

2. change the cf card and connect it back to your pc. does it work? if yes, the problem was your cf card. if no, try again on your friend`s pc... if it still does not work - warranty/service :)

also please let me know what operating system you are using, if you`re connecting the mpc to the wall socket or if you are using it with batteries and if you`re trying this with a laptop or with a pc
