mpc 2000 with pc

what program is good with the mpc 2000, just to hear the beats through the computer speakers and be able to record vocals with a mic hooked up to the pc. i got cool edit 2.0 but i dont hear the sounds in it, what do i do.

I see you've also got a thread about cool edit pro. How long have you been using it for? I think you should give yourself more time to get into that as it should do what you want. Have you looked for cool edit forums?

I know people with no previous computer audio knowledge use it to record vocals & other acoustic stuff. It has taken over from the old 4 track cassette portastudios as an entry level recorder.

Other than that it is bigger things like Logic, Cubase or ProTools

yeah, this is the first day,lol, i wanted a kid to spit over a beat so i was just rushin, but ima give it a shot and try putting the audio outs to the PC, thanks for the info feather boy.
