Peace. I've done hella research and reading in different forums and i wanted to finally holla @ yall for YHO about which series would b best for my setup.

Aresenal
Kore 2 + Komplete 6
Asr-10 maxed out
Logic 9
Reason
various synths
Motu BPM
MPK49 [which i would likely dump. the pads are a joke. keys are nice tho. but with kore 2 the sliders n knobs are pointless unless im using it strictly for Reason]

Basically i really dont like using Logic as my SEQUencer. its cool for piano roll editing and mixing but im not too hype about the workflow.

Heres a little glimpse into my needs and not needs.

The SOUND of the unit is kinda secondary because i can use my ASR as an "insert" out of my DAW, or out a turntable, through the signal chain, and us its FX to get that Grime 8)

Layering would b nice but i do most of it in BPM.

As far as chopping. im pretty comfortable with using EX24. The tab to transient and split at playhead commands are dope. The i just right click and turn audio into instrument track. SupaSicC! Then i can drop into mpc via CF or Midi. But again id likely just trigger the slices with the mpc. So chopping isnt big on my agenda in the mpc but it would b cool.

Im foward thinkin n im mostly in the box but i like to have analoug options  So im not to interested in a mpc60 n im not considerin maschine till later later LATER. I used to have the 4k. But briefly. i sold it to get my Mac Pro tower. I aint mad.

My priority and focus in buying an MPC is
1) Tight Tight sequencing. Hands on. Intuitive workflow.
2) The Feel of the unit. The PADS and the workflow

Im lookin @ second hand 1000 with JJ, 2500 with JJ, or 2kxl MCD.

Really leaning towards the 1k based on all that ive read but i dont know about the pads and GC doesnt have 1 in stock right now for me to test. But r the pads like the 2kxl? I really like those pads.

How r the pads on the 2500?

is the MCD 2kxl with mpc editor user friendly or is it steppin back in time too much?

Which has the tightest timing? ive seen alot of debate about this. Is there a differance between these models or is it really between these models and the 60/3000?

is it true the 1k doesnt have MTC sync? I really dont want a headache on my hand when it comes to sequancing and intergration with my DAW. VERY VERY Important

I want to be able to quantize n add swing/ nudge indiviual notes by the way

Word. Thanks in advance. Heads @ MPC-Forums seem really chill n dont b on that fanboy nagging pride sh!t. Yall keep it real. Lookin foward to discussin this and future topics. PEACE

id personally go with an mpc 1000 or something newer if u got the money, when i first looked into getting mpc's id get all types of responses sayin

go with the 60 its got the best sound
go with the 2000xl it's got the best feel/sound

and after studying and lookin at my budget i realized i wanted to go with the 1000

for 1 - it takes CF cards - which imo are more reliable and current than zipdrives and esp floppy disks etc.

for 2 - its a sampler made by akai - it's up to u what u do with it yaknow

for 1 - all MPCs can take CF cards

for 2 - the 1000 is made by numark while the 2000xl and earlier were made by akai... what is your point with that one? the 1000, 2500, 500, etc.... are known to have less build quality.

Fellas i came up on a MPC 2000xl MCD. I got it i a trade for my mpk49. Ima rock wit this for a few months n see how it gets along in my setup. If i start sampling into the unit more and program on it more i might look into upgrading to the 1k or 2.5k. Either with the JJ OS. Im really feelin the extra features of those OS's. Peace

Was there a big difference in price that made you decide to go with the 2kxl over a 1k?
