Dying flash card slot?

Yo!

Got an MPC a few months ago and it's worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. The MPC is of the blue kind and was bought second hand.
The problem I'm having now is that the MPC won't read my compact flash card. It did at first, I upgraded to the free JJOS and all that. But yeah, lately it hasn't.

What happens is that if I boot the MP with the card in it, it takes forever to boot. Like it's constantly trying to read the card or something. If I put the card in after I've booted the MPC and try to save or load anything off of it, it just freezes. I've tried with two different flash cards and neither works.

So, is this a common MPC 1k problem, or is it just a dead flash card slot? I can't see any broken pins or anything, but.

Yeah, that's probably it, innit.

Most common issue on the 1k regarding the CF slot. $125 mistake. No biggie. You might even be able to straighten them out with some fine needle-nose pliers

I think I'll bust the **** open later and look for broken pins. Thanks for the advice.

I've done some googling and I can't seem to find a guide on how to change the slot. Looks like I'll have to unscrew the bottom of the machine? Bottom and front panel.

yea you have to open it up, pull the faders off, take off the side panels, remove the front plate then the rest of the case.

Im having this smae cf card prob. ive checked out the slot and no pins are bent. any other sugesstions somebody?
