anyone go from 3.03 to 3.11... i'm wondering if the upgrade is substantial or helpful in any way... $150 more and I can get the Valixi... i think 3.11 allows you to delete pieces from the start and end points... which would be great for conserving disk space. anything else?

also wondering if you had any problems loading floppies/beats that were created with 3.03 after having upgraded to 3.11 or 3.50... have some beats i would definitely not want to ruin by upgrading the OS.

thanks.

I had a 60 with the OG OS, and that blew.

3.11 does let you truncate front, and back sections (trim)

I have no idea about the disk thing, but I assume that they would load, as it was an AKAI upgrade, so their shouldn't be any issues.

Ill sell you my 3.11 chips once my 3.5 gets here :)

Thanks man... appreciate you taking the time to respond. That's kind of my issue... I'm considering paying the money and just doing the ultra OS upgrade with the 3.5. Curious, are you getting the 3.5 with the hard burn?

3.5 Valixi is for the mpc3000... hopefully, Rohan will update the 60 OS at some point.

The ROM images for the MPC 3000 OS 3.11 are freely available on the internet, I would not pay very much for those.

If you have the money to upgrade to Vailixi 3.50 then do it. Your floppies should still load fine.

If you are planning on getting the hard burn, make sure your battery on the main board is good otherwise the feature won't do you much good. If your battery is dead, it's not a big deal to replace it, more of a pain to take out the board.

Good stuff, thank you.
