Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

How come sometimes when I try to load certain wav sounds from kits thru Akai sys loader when I drag the sound from my hard drive to the mpc via computer I get a 1 file transfer failed message. I try to changed the name of the sound in cool edit and i still cant get the sound to my mpc does anybody else have the same problem

My MPC sometimes won't load very large files, it crashes with fatal error and the other side of this is I can't sometimes save very large files. Plus aksys is bullshit and good only for copying files (seems not even good for copying in your case), so it might be the case.
I feel sorry for this, because IMO it should work as a typical movable storage eg. SD card.

Maybe try chopping it if it's large file and just don't expect too much from aksys, 'cus you might be dissapointed. Try maybe copying it from pendrive and see if it works.

Yeah, it's a known issue with trying to transfer large files using ak.sys.

I've had some issues also with file transfer through aksys.
What you can try is:

Move the .wav file to a usb-stick and load it (from the front loader) directly in the memory of the 4K.
Then you can [save] the file to your harddisc or use it instantly in your sequencer.
