how much beats do u make in a day/week?

just wonderin - on a good day ill make 10 main beats with maybe 2 - 3 sequences each but usually i make 3 a day/15 a week

damn ten a day??? sometimes i'll do 2 or three day other times i'll spend a week on one.....whatever it takes to get where i want it

like ten main ideas (not full beats) but thats only if im really just wantin to make beats all day

do to me not having a turntable at the moment i sample from my computer - chop samples up for a couple hours load em in the mpc and go to town

i've always done 1-2 a week. i spend a lot of time "perfecting" the track that im currently working on, and i've always thought that cats that do like 3+ a day, the end result cant be that good. think about it, theres no way someone can put enough thought into a beat/track in one day alone, or 3 for that matter.

when i do a beat, when im done with it i want it to be the best that it could be, not half assing it (not saying you or anyone else does), but to me personally i dont see how anyone can make 3+ tracks a day and expect it to sound better than average

experience wise, yeah it may help you, but listening wise...maybe not so much

Jeebus! You guys are MONSTERS! I stew about one beat sometimes for a week before I get started, plan all sorts of craziness for the percussion, teach it to myself as a piano piece, then after I lay it the locals won't touch it unless I scrap the mulitlayered drums and put in a **** 808!

This is a slight exaggeration, 2 beats a week. 3 tops.

If we're talking about finished beats, maybe one, maximum two per week. Sometimes i won't finish a single beat for two or three weeks.

I like to work on different beats at the same time however. So what i do is something i'd call making draft beats. I'll sample a record, chop it up, trim the samples, make a program with just those samples (no drums loaded at this point) and save it. This way, when i feel like making a beat i always have a few projects ready on the mpc. I've made about 5-6 of these in a day once. More would be possible, but i think i'd get lost in too many beats at the same time.

when i just get started i been working with mpc about 4-5 hours every day about 2 month. So it was one day = onew beat. Now i usualy produce 1 beat each 2 days.. if i got fresh vinyl of couse

I usually create a new program on weekends.. Then work out a half dozen sequences
that are eventually converted to a Song by the weekend.
It is not clear if by saying a "beat" you mean a sequence, or a song
containing several sequences?
Doing more instrument sampling and programs lately than
sampling tunes. If sampling records I can do a Song a day.

I like quality over quanity. Anyone can make a beat.. thoes days are gone.. songs songs songs..

do you include digging for samples, then sampling, trimming and program layering, recording tracks and song arranging aswell when you say you make so many beats in a week?
