I'm using MPC right now and DAW and I think I'm pretty tired after all I went through to set it up. It only provides me with new problem when it comes to syncing. It's not that I can't sync it properly, because I can do it easily, but by the word 'properly' I mean it can play in sync with DAW with no issues, but the device seems to be much like blocked and there are weird issues after changing sequences on MPC (someone is able to do this with no problems?). It seems I have to incompatible sequencers, but I'm not looking to all the **** tutorials and I'm not going into digging google or this forums. Many times I asked for a solution, but this time I ask myself is it worth finding all the workaround for all this sync shit when I can have one sequencer (DAW) I can plug shitty pads to it and play my damn drums inside a DAW.
???
Tell me because I don't know. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Which MPC are u using?

I can sync 2000XL, 2500 and 3000 with no problems - only some slight issues. With 3k, I have to record about 12 bars to get an 8 bar loop into daw. Why - because for some reason when Logic's sequencer starts, 3K's sequencer is muted for two beats and then starts from about seventh bar. That is still no issue cos, like I said, I just record a little bit longer and then cut the crap from the beginning.

With 2KXL the sync isn't perfect. Timing of 2KXL is sometimes "left behind" the Logic's metronome aka 2KXL is slighlty lazy. When it does that, I just start the sequence from beginning on Logic. I'm not sure if the sync can be perfect at all but I'm doing ok with it! With 2KXL I also need to record about 16 bars if I want to have an 8 bar loop looping perfect on Logic. Why, because for some reason a bit from the sequence's beginning isn't recorderded on Logic. 2KXL plays the sequence a bit too early and that's why a little bit from the beginning of the recorded audio is missing. The same thing happens on 2,5K.

Could u clarify what is ur problem accurately with the syncing? Which DAW u are using?

damn ghost, 7 post into the forum and you're already swingin at cats?.....as far syncing turn the pre count on that help time it better and re check ur time code settings

Ya sorry bout that . And yes what interface? What computer and ram? There are buffer settings as well. I had mbox.. trash.. fast track...clips all the time.. got a firewire.. all is good and even sounds more clean.. start with your ram on computer. Then the interface 90% of clip and lag issues are in the interface.

Let me clarify some things because there is misunderstanding. I CAN sync ONE SEQUENCE with NO PROBLEMS, but I really need my MPC4K to change my sequences while Logic is playing. For example Logic is playing and MPC4K is playing Sequence-001 and I want to change it to next sequence WITHOUT stopping Logic sequencer.
When I do that (change from 1st to 2nd sequnence while Logic is playing) my tempo most of the times seems to be 2 times faster than it's supposed to be. So it's still fitting, but it's not usable. For example my tempo is 90 and it sounds like 180.
I really need it for arrangements as I'm doing a lot of experiments with change ups in every beat I make.

The workaround for this is: I record 1st sequence and 2nd sequence, but I don't want to record useless sequences, so I don't want to use this workaround.

I'm using MTC for syncing.

Are you able to do that on any of the MPCs? Changing sequences while your DAW is playing?

And really I don't give a **** about this go hard or quit MPC fanatics bullshit.

Song mode g. I do the same thing you're doing and I write different patterns that follow the song sequence I lay down within cubase/nuendo.

Just hit your song button on the 4k and list the patterns you want in whatever order you want.

Lol.. bro. No matter how you record it in the mpc your going to have to track it out one freaking track at a time or its going to be a big fat fail. Compress and eqing and reverbing or phazing each track by itself is what gives it life man. Song mode is cool but why? Good luck to you i hope you learn what your are seeking to know.

It's easier. The patterns follow the song structure from the daw. For individual tracking & especially if you've got an 8 out analog or adat setup on the 4k to track with, it should be a breeze.

Track 8 at a time into your daw and do what you gotta do from there.

Only way to do it. Its called "arranging".

this isn't a very clear description of the problem

you say the tempo seems to be faster - can't you check if it really is?

which sequence seemingly changes tempo, the one in logic or the one in the mpc? or both?

is it actually changing tempo, or are you just hearing twice as many notes? if it's the latter, are you double-triggering every midi note? maybe the mpc is sending midi notes to logic and logic is sending them back to the mpc and every note plays twice.

sounds like you need to figure out what's actually happening (not "it sounds like 180") and then figure out why that might happen, then solve it. simple ;)

Hmm ok. Got me there. However i only use 5k for drum paterns.. you cant the same bounce in a daw.. and i program the rest on reason.. synth on the mini moog track it with protools and i try to do most precusions live.. its more work but isnt that what most people want now.. Blend of live, bouncy paterns and that human feal?

I don't know about that. It wasn't what you asked though.
