my nephew gave me acid pro 3 or 4, then fl studio. that was all needed to get my hands on, i always had tons of records & tapes, Cd's. back in the day mpc's & sp1200 were to expensive to get. So i have to give credit to my nephew for the constant push to keep at it! young cat went and built him self a state of the art studio with his wife, she even sings on a lot of his stuff!! 8) much respect!!! :)

I have no friends that make beats. Though I do have several friends and associates who play instruments, engineer or produce in the old form I don't have any who make beats. The only people I know who make beats are those online and I don't talk to them often enough nor have I met them in person for it to count. Sometimes I wish I did have such friends but everybody I seem to find that make beats locally either seem to be mostly about entourage and posturing, make music I don't like or aren't interested in what I do like, or I only meet them in passing. You get over it though. :D

I know one guy who is an acquaintance who has an MPC... doesn't know how to use it and I dont think he made a beat on it yet...

dude also made a beat or two on garage band-no comment.

I make music with a friend for our two person experimental music group... but we dont make beats.

One of my best mates got me into making beats back in '95. I just used to sit in on sessions while he was messing around with the S950 and Atari ST. Good times... :D

Another one of my best mates had a 2k classic, and being able to mess around on it convinced me to buy the 2kxl.

ya my older brother got me into making beats. its funny cause before i even got into making beats i used to come through to his old studio all the time with b*tches and brews and he'd be trying to show me stuff and I just didnt really give a f*ck. now you probably couldnt get me out of there. other than that I have a few other buddies that make beats here and there

I know a lot of people 'making beats' on cracked software versions of whatever program, I dont know a single soul that is even willing to invest a little in to this thing we do so I just ignore people like that lol.

Got a couple people i know that make beats.. it fun to try and one up a track.. like one does.the melody one drops the drums then back and forth till fhe songs over.99% of the people u meet in this game will never and should never be allowed to work as hard as you. My friends are engineers. ;)
