sample help (mixer set up)

I sample from a few different sources A turntable, Computer, my xponent, etc... i just burnt out my interface, and now looking to by a mixr/interface. Everytime I needed to sample I would have to unplug one source from the record in on the MP and plug in whatever source i wanted to sample from. I want to avoid having to do this. I assume I can run all the sources into the mixer and run a line from the mixer's out into the mp's record in. But if i do that how do i run a line out to the daw if the mixer only has one main out, at least on all that I have seen in my price range. I hope i am making sense. If so cold someone give me a hand in how i can keep from constantly switching the lines to sample. any suggestions on what i can do?

Get a small mackie with an aux bus......like the 1202vlz

Hook up the aux bus to the mpc record in and the mains out to your daw.

Any channel you mute on the board will goto the mpc's record in.

Even better than the aux bus is the mute group.

You hit mute and it sends that to the alt output, which you have sending to your sampler input. Just hit a button and it's there, and nowhere else. Now you never have to worry about hearing the sound 'twice'...once in the main mix and once in the sampler input.

This is definitely my favorite feature of those mackie mixers.

edit: looks like we were talking about the same thing, but you were using the term Aux, which is a separate send / routing. Mackie calls this 'mute group' or 'alt output'.
For the record, any mixer with an aux send would work too, but not as clean /simple in my opinion.

yep.....those little mackie mixers are badass.....its hard to go wrong for ~$100

Why would you want to run the mixer into the daw when you're sampling into your mpc?
You're suppose to have the mixer going into the mpc then the mpc into your daw for recording purposes. You can run the line out on your computer into the moxer, you can run the turntable to the preamp into the mixer and any other gear that the mixer allows slots to plug in. All those are then routed into your mpc by one output.

i was was looking at gettng a mixer that has usb...but what you are saying makes the most sense.
