yeah, i understand what you are saying, but its not really an answer to my question.. so instead of trying to make myself clear (i dont really speak english), ill just do it, and see what happens..

thought id bring this thread back rather than starting new one, could anyone tell me if this Sansui D-100 cassette deck would be okay for adding some lo-fi grit to my beats, they're going for fairly cheap and actually look quite nice or would it be a waste of time? can view specs/pic here:

If by Lo-fi grit you mean a reduction in dynamic range and frequency response as well as intoduction of wow and flutter, then yes, this should do it. But at $250, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

thanks mate, i think $250 was when it was first released in 82-83, i can pick one up for like £40 now, so pretty cheap for something thats gonna give me a better result than a vst fx, think i may go ahead and grab one.

Honestly, go for a Tascam 122 mate. One is on eBay UK right now for less than £35 with 30 minutes to go. At least you'll have Azimuth adjustment and Dolby.
