underground production has a certain offbeat swing to it?

why is that like the drums dont hit at the right time and shit, not really feelin it in most cases i think people are over doin that shit at the moment... thoughts?

yeah... but theres always a difference between the originators (who do stuff in a nuanced and meaningful way) and the followers (who sometimes brainlessly apply everything they can think of)...

and i used to think a lot of drum programming is wack.. i think i got used to it :p

that is a result of abusing the "shift" feature of the fruity loops step sequencer.

i thought the 1st beat was decent, the 9th beat was cool not his best very generic kinda a throw away beat.

but neither of them was wack but in general the no quantize movement got popular cos of doom, dilla and madlib and cats like flying lotus.

sometimes its dope sometimes it seems contrived and forced when peeps try and duplicate it.

i never quant. my drums, drums are the heart, soul and rythme of a beat, making it off beat on purpose never made sense and sounds horrible imo,swing is great4 drums but choppy drums make choppy beats
