I actually have the 2500 and a 60II but the 60 is in a box in the garage. it dont belong to me.. but its been on loan without mention from a dude that I barely ever talk to, who dont ever mention it, and has never even come over to chill.
how does that "possesion is 9/10th of the law" sh!t work?

Give him deadline to come up with cash or you keeping it. Otherwise he gonna ride that shit forever.

something magnetic bout mpc, I hardly touch it when I got one but still like to keep it around. I been through 5-6 mpcs since 06

Besides 2.5k ,3k le and 2xlse was there other limited models.3kse got more MIDI ports than reg 3k? I'm guessing they all got at least set of each in/outs to chain link?

Theres a 2000xl MCD which is just blue, but its not really a "limited edition". Its just the latest version they manufactured. I think the same thing goes for the 4000. They just made a newer blue version, but its still not a "limited edition".

I think the MPC 3000LE is the coolest limited edition MPC Akai manufactured. The 2500LE is pretty badass too. Those carbon fiber side panels look amazing!! I think the 2500 LE with one of those colored LCD screens from mpcstuff would look SOOOOOO cool.. Thats something I want to get one day. I started making beats on a 2500 and Im kinda mad that I sold it. I should of just kept it... Its one of the best MPCs ever.. It just has everything that you need and its not overkill like the 5000... I miss it =(....

well i was kidding around..... I wonder if anyone out there who has every single mpc model has ever made a single song using every single one in the song... haha.. that would be awesome to see.

I hope buy an mpc 4k cause she have a good grain of sound(24 bit)!,256mb by default,and hd too!But the best fo timing and swing is the mpc3000!

Can you achieve a grimey sound with the 2500 like you can with the classic ones? Like funk doc mentioned about the 4k?

Grimey sound comes from the ad/da staging those old mpc had. I assume it's more of a lo-fi presence you're after, right?

yes!

it's all about how you manipulate the sample! so many ways to do it, not just by having crazy good sound off the bat.. the sound is kind of sterile/flat imo, but that just makes you think of more ways to fvk with it.. 2500+jj = win win!

i got a maxed out xl also which i got 2 yrs after my 2500, only to see what the hype was about, and i did.. i understand why the xl is put on a pedestal so often. but now im so familiar with the 2500, it just holds me back so much although i do love making beats with it..

no i have never used both together...headache -do not want! in a perfect world yes! but i got to sell my xl although i'd love to just have it as a neck chain..

i am trying to figure how to use MPC3000 as a master sequencer with
MPC1000 JJOS 2XL in slave mode for playing longer samples ,
recording audio tracks on MPC1000 and use its track mutes
While keeping the MPC3000's solid swing and a center peace of the studio....

is it at all possible,
or will i loose the track mutes and other extras of the MPC1000 in slave mode ?

i wonder as well. over the past 25 years most of my friends have dropped out of producing and passed their gear over to me.
