Okay People i'm so **** sad and mad :( I just bought MPC 1000 v2. I bought it on ebay from USA ( I'm living in UK ) . So i also bought plug in from USA to UK for my power cable from MPC and ram 128 and flash card 2 GB. I get MPC last week and first time when i run it no problems right. So i changed software to jj os and start learning how to make beats on this :) okay i was using it for may be 4 hours then i switch off. Next time when i switch on after load ram and all programs and everything my pads play by themselfs so i hear from headphones all sounds in one time and its so wired and soonest i hit MODE pads get creazy and its take me to effects or load or save or slider or mixer and everything on pads! so i just press MODE and everytime on the screen comes out the all functions without me hit pads. NO idea what i can do!? then i bought voltage converter because i thought thats will works but still the same problem. I spoke to that guy who sold me MPC and he sayes converter could damage it( i don't think its because voltage converter because problems starts when i was using plug in usa/uk ). And i can try run it with IEC (computer cable). And he said i can try do HARD RESET of MPC anybody can tell me how to do hard reset ?? i can not find in Manual's ... Please help i don't want to lost my money :/

This is a known issue....it concerns a connection problem.

What you can do is open up the MPC and disconnect and re-connect all visible (flat)cable connectors...this could solve your problem.

This has nothing to do with converters or whatsoever.

if you are hearing sounds automatically, and it goes to another screen automatically when you hit "mode" then one or more of your pads are constantly triggering, make sure it's not stuck. To do a reset, power on MPC with "erase" held down

nothing plugged into the midi ports. Also try JJOS 3.12 and 4.99 still the same problem after swich on MPC :(

A dodgy memory module can sometimes make the MPC do strange things like triggering random pads etc. If it has the memory module installed, remove it and see if that makes any difference. It can be accesssed via the small door at the bottom of the machine. Good luck!

Got exactly the same problem as Dudiman, sometimes it works for a few minutes, then starts playing all the pads again..

Took out the memory module, but it didn't help. Gonna open it up and reconnect the cables soon when i got the time.

Let me know if anything helps!

Think i found the problem... The blue cable under the pads is damaged, if i bend it back it works for a while, and then the random playing starts again.. Anybody know where to get a new flex cable, and how to change it?

Here's pictures, you can see on the second one that the cable is damaged.
