Turd on cf card

Hi I have an Mpc 3000 that runs Vailixi, and I use a non-hot swappable scsi for samplers cf card driver. On my PC I run Ubuntu when adding sounds to the cf cards.
The problem is that sometimes Ubuntu leaves a turd on the card and causes some of the pgms to stop working. It has happened twice and f....d up four great drumkits
Has anyone encountered this, and does anyone know how to fix or avoid this

After you copy the files to the CF card but before you remove the card from your USB card reader, look at a directory listing of the card and make sure there are no extraneous files on the card. Non-Windows operating systems like to add "finder" or some other types of files onto the media, sort of like a tom cat marking it's territory. If you see any of these files, delete them, then remove the CF card from the USB card reader. That would be my suggestion but others who know the Ubuntu os may have some better ideas.

Follow the solution for MAC users who run older versions of OSX:

Patch UBUNTU to leave "FAT" disks alone and not place tracking turds in the wrong location on disk...

ubunutu currupted my pgm files on my card. i stopped trynah use ubuntu wit my cf. maybe i need to further experiment.
