Help With Mixer

i got the soundcraft epm6.. i dont know how to ground it and the manual states it has to be grounded before futher use. its new and came with a power cord and thats all, the manual does not explain how to ground it, it just says to ground it.

this is my setup so far to give you an idea.

Technics TT
Dj Mixer
Midi Keyboard
Monitors
keyboards..

yup, but if your outlet not grounded then that 3rd prong is as good as if it wasnt even there.

If you've got bad electrics you're **** anyway, but generally speaking, your power sockets will be grounded.

why dont they say "plug mixer in" instead of "warning this mixer must be grounded before use" then?

i still dont understand.. if my house electrics wernt grounded everything would blow up so what does it mean by "this mixer must be grounded" do i need to run a wire off a bolt on the mixer to somthing solid or what.. it dosnt say what it means..

look at the plugs and cables of the power connection - if there are three wires on both ends then it is grounded (power, neutral, ground). if your power cables only have two connections like the flat euro plug or most wallwarts then there is no ground connection.
if the power supply is inside the piece of equipment it has to be grounded because the strong current from your wall power outlet runs through the power cable into the unit. if the power runs into a wallwart then it mostly don´t need to be grounded, because there is only a small current running through the cable to your unit.

and i assume they emphasis on this, because in studio scenarios people often disconnect the ground connection (also called groundlift) to get rid of groundloops that produce hum and that leads to risking an electrical shock from ungrounded equipment if you touch any part of the metal housing.

it came with one power cord.

the cord end that i plug into the wall has 3 pins.
the cord end that i plug into the mixer has 3 slots
were i plug the cable into the mixer.. the mixer has 3 pins
were i plug it into the wall.. the wall has 3 slots.

am i safe? also it has no on/off button and were the cord plugs into the mixer it says "this equipment must be earthed" cheers.

^^^ Instead of plugging directly into the wall socket, connect a surge/power strip from the wall then connect the power cord for the mixer into that.

yer i got a protector in my wall socket then i have a multibox pluged into that so i can plug 6 things in at a time.. like mpc.. djmixer.. turntable.. laptop..and soundcraft mixer

anyway.. power cord that comes with the mixer is the same as this one.. but way more solid/newer looking.. and fits the mixer and wall socket etc but is the same kinda thing *3prongs/3 slots) http://bigbytepc.net/images/3_prong_cable.jpg

i been given the answer for grounding.. and thanks..
but im not scaring my knuclkes working for months on end to blow somthing up because i was to eager to use it.. its more than that.

my last question is when it is plugged in.. it says beside the power input on the mixer "the equipment must be earthed" is that just saying the same thing or do i need to run a wire to somthing ?
