hey man, no worries. We give people a hard time around here.

But listen to pound though.... he is giving solid advice.

The XR20, it is a drum machine that has sounds built in only. You can download all of those sounds online for free. That is like getting the drum machine for free... plus with a music program you can actually edit the sounds unlike having the real machine.

You should save your cash and get a used mpc. XR20's are what? 250-300 bucks? well you may even find a used mpc2000 (not the XL model) for that price and it is 100 times better because you can record your own sounds into it, you could load up the free downloaded sounds from the xr20 into it... everything. Plus in a year or two it will be just as good for making beats as it was on the first day after you read the manual.

it aint only that, do some research your own self instead of only coming here to this thread and asking.... try google too... wikipedia what an MPC is and look on youtube.

How do you get the sounds in an mpc and how much does it cost? That question is ridiculous especially when we are talking about the biggest known sampling machine in history. I know non-music people who dont know what a sampler is but know exactly what an mpc is.
