First of all, solid forum, already proving to be of large assistance!

Completely new to the MPC world, keen to get involved.

Couple of questions if its not too much trouble;

- Is a 2.5K a bit overkill for a first buy?
- Is Ebay as bad an avenue for a purchase as i think it could turn out to be? located in AUS

Looking for a balance between overkill & practicality for a newbie, will be using it in production so hoping to have a capacity to plug & play with various supporting componentry. 2.5 seems to tick those boxes.

Got family heading to honk kong very shortly, could be a good oppertunity to get a cheap buy, turns out China isnt what it used to for cheap tech, ie; ucp.php?mode=activate&u=52045&k=51U1HIDIRV

Works out about 2.2k AUD, which i am more than happy to shell out, just dont want to shoot myself in the foot and bite off more than i can chew.

This sale also slapped me in the face... viewtopic.php?f=12&t=134829

Big thanks in advance for any advice.

There's no MPC that's considered overkill. Anybody that considers features to be overkill has already put a limit on how much they wanna learn.

Go for whatever model fits your needs and not somebody elses. Keep future expansion in the back of your mind or you'll be chasing models like some folks I know. :roll:

australian ebay prices for mpc aren't great value. you'd be better buying new online from the US.

but if you're going to HK, buy there. it won't be a bargain bonanza, but it should be the same or a little less than the US. give tom lee a call: Tel : (852) 2723 9932.
i've bought gear from them before.

Aye Slip_

I've purchased my second mpc off of ebay, and I was fully satisfied with my purchase. my advice is to purchase from top-sellers being as though they have major positive feed back for delivering on time and as advertised.

the 1k is pretty much identical to the 2500 in functionality if you have jjos on it. except the 2500 has more outs.
