hello,. I have contacted mpcstuff.com and it seems they are out of stuff, lots of stuff. i called about a right side pcb board and they said it was on back order, but they expected to be getting it in. when i asked the lady how long it had been on back order for she said 6 months. i just laughed at her., so i contacted Akai. a guy in parts sent me a list of parts, here is the e-mail. i'll let you know how it goes..

Thanks for posting this - I sent an email to Akai about 2 days ago regarding getting some spare parts from them, still waiting to hear back, I'm guessing if they ever get back to me I'll receive this exact same list...

Not sure where this leaves the thousands of MPC users who need new parts, since no one seems to be manufacturing them what are we supposed to do? Construct makeshift fixes or buy new equipment (lol).

yes, i hope this helps everyone who needs parts but are just waiting on mpcstuff.com to get em in. when ive got the money for my pcb board, i wanna just buy it, not wait for it to get stocked. same with the pad upgrade. I will be buying a black and white screen from mpcstuff though..

so i called akai, the lady in parts said hopefully they would have them in in october, hopefully?? thats like, shit in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up faster.. but i did get a price from her..... $30.00!!!!! mpcstuff sells em for 60.00. so there you have it, it is better to just go through akai, cause these other companies are doubling the price...

Even if you do find out what company assembles the PCBs, they will not sell to you if you only want 1 or 2 pieces, as they are only a manufacturing house and make boards at volume.

Parts like tact switches, knobs, encoders are very common -- any electronic parts seller such as a mouser or maplin will have these for sale

This brings up a question I have. Are there higher quality tact switches? I know I've asked before, but I dont think I ever got a deffinate answer. Also, anyone know where I can get good tact switches for a Fantom X. Peace.

thanks guys for all the info. i wanted to just get an extra pcb board before i started soldering new stuff onto my old one, i dont wanna **** up and be mpc-less, so i wanted a new pcb board set asside. ive never soldered before, although my dad had me watch him do it on my old walkmans when i was little, so i know the gist of it, just never done it, plus ive got pretty shaky hands..lol
