After winning several beat battles up and down the California coast, producer/independent developer Mike Gao has released an app for iPhone and iPod Touch allowing one to beatbox into a phone, email it, then load it up in a MPC, other beat machine, or DAW.

App is only $2.99 : less than an album and you can create sequences in bed, in traffic, etc.

If you don't beat box, you can train the app with other sounds and sequence the hits.

you can use default training/recognition or recognition based on your own training sounds optionally.
if you can beatbox consistently then all you haveto do is train it with the same sounds you want to use and bam it recognizes what you do, save it. obviously the microphone on the iPhone lacks gain control so if your beatboxing kissing the mic with loud ass bass kicks, its going to distort everything. just beat box at a good distance, things will be clean.

if shit ain't workin chances are you trained it with a gang of noise so just clear training.

$3 is still pricey for an app with no feedback and limited functionality.

Release a light version that gives you 5 free beat transfers, and if it works people will buy into it.

I've bought plenty of specialised music apps, and some of the more expensive ones have been poor.

The UI just doesn't look that great to be honest.
