Importing drum kits from motif 8

Can I import my drum kits from Motif 8 to the 1k? Is this feasible?

Its a sampler, you can sample them lol.

@wudsiba: We'd still be living in caves if people asked questions and only got replies like the first few above, that's all I'm saying. People get on here to find the knowledge that they don't have. I might be a bit more sympathetic towards the situation, being a teacher by profession. I wouldn't ever taunt a kid for asking me a simple question.

Right on. My bad. Just hit Mode and pad 5. Your in the recording or "sampling" page. Patch your audio out from the motif to the audio in of the Mp. If you do this with the digital audio, you won't have any loss of sound quality. I don't use the Motif, but I do use the Roland Fantom X. The Fantom and the Mp both use WAV files, so I'm able to swap samples between the two without a computer by using Compact Flash cards. I imagine the Motif uses WAV files, so you should be able to do the same. If I don't sample the sound from one to another that is...

what's funny is that he has the (expensive) gear, like an mpc1000 and apparently a motif8, but doesn't know what a sampler is

I don't think it's unreasonable to laugh in those circumstances

kids learn gradually, and as babies they start out learning by watching and listening.
they don't walk into a maths lecture and start asking what number comes after 14.

imagine: it's the 1970s and you're messing about with your 1970s synth but you know you won't see your mentor for a few days, do you sit and wait, looking sad, until you see him and can ask how to make it do a farty squelch noise, or do you think for yourself? or go to the library to get a book and do some background reading?

today you'd just give up, find a forum and ask for help. and eventually you have to read something anyway, which you could have done in the first place by showing some initiative.

or just open the manual - you only have to turn to page 7 where the Terminology section defines "sample"
