[HELP] MPC3000LE Strange Pads trigger behavior ?

Hi to All ,

For some strange reason the pads on my MPC3000LE ( that i just bought off eBay) trigger the samples double when pushed softly or pushed and hold??!!
it doesnt happen much when the pads hit shortly.
Mostly only when i push the Pads softly and hold....

does this means that something is wrong with the pad sensors or the pads or dirt or what ....?

any ideas?

am i the only one having this problem, hmmm ?

It sounds like the pad sensor are dirty or if you go to program>parameters then look at poly and see if the notes are on poly or mono. Hope this helps.

Its in poly mode, switch to mono

how do i find out if the pad sensors are dirty? is it tough to dismantle the pads , clean and put back together?

The only way to find out is looking of there is dirt or particles on the sensors. It is easy to dismantle, clean and put back together just don't lose the screws in it's coordination.

Yes it is by default.

Yes it is by default.

i have changed the play mode from POLY to MONO = same problem : double triggered samples

The only way to find out is looking of there is dirt or particles on the sensors. It is easy to dismantle, clean and put back together just don't lose the screws in it's coordination.

kinda scared to open up the pads, but guess i should do that anyway

can i clean the pad sensors with modified medical alcohol?

Finally decided to open up MPC and take out the pads and the pad sensors:

they looked very clean from the inside ( see photos) only on the outside of the pads had some dirt.

Cleaned the pads with warm water, pad sensors with some medical alcohol.

Put everything up together : Problem is Still there ??!!

have no idea what else could cause that double sample triggering...

guess i have to live with that?

That is strange. I'll say this but don't take my word for it but also maybe other members may have better solution sounds like it's a pad senor thing and probably may have to change the pad sensor. Have you tried other pads and does the same thing If it does replace the pad sensor. I know it is annoying but dope you have the 3000LE know you can't wait to bang out beats.

the problem is on all pads- it's depend on the way I hit them...
the sensors look clean so looks the MPC from the inside...
I just don't see any mechanical problems....
what if it's a software related?
just an idea....

or what if it's related to the fact that there is some space
between the rubber pads and the sensors...
I can feel thal light space when pushing the pads
lightly?

Some people suggest that i should get the new pad sensors sheet and the pads from mpcstuff.com
others belive the problem is in technique ( how one hits the pads) and that it affects all MPC's -
so that i have to just adjust my technique ....

i donno who is right anymore --- lots of controvercial opinions ....

not sure if i should waist 128$ on pad sensors + pads before nailing the problem down?
