CL2020 or/and CR2032 MPC60 mkI

i did not find any CL2020 to replace the one in my MPC60 MKI,
so is it ok to replace it with a CR2032 ?

a cr2032 will be taller, 3,2mm instead of 2,0mm for a CL2020

oh the battery, I am not sure, dont you have the old one? put the same kind in or check the manual or service manual... both can be found around the forum here if you search.


... I think the sega saturn takes a cr2032... though I could be wrong. number rings a bell though. maybe that's in the 3DO.

it worked...
but i had to put it under the pcb, because the battery holder was to big to be one the top of the card.

it's great now to have the midi filter settings memory !

Both batteries are 3 volts, so any 3v battery will work.

The difference in any series of coin cell batteries is form factor and as you found out the CR2032 batteries are larger....

I need to replace my mpc60 battery too, but after some research, i found that the original cl2020 is a rechargeable battery! So a cr2032 is not good...and maybe dangerous for our mpc...
I found that vl2020 is maybe a good option...
What's your opinion?

I've only ever used CR2032. No problems.
I put a battery holder near the front of the chasis to save removing PCBs when I need to replace it.

No. If you use cheap/crappy batteries they last months. Decent batteries will last years.
