Keep it simple.

The analogue mixer route is a reliable starting point, doesn't have I/O latency or a steep learning curve and has a known quality of signal.

Get an Ensoniq DP4+ or a DP4 for the quality, quantitiy of FX and number of I/O channels.

Maybe get an Alesis Q2 to compliment that.

If the budget stretches far enough ... an Eventide or a Lexicon too.

That will be enough quality effects to sink a ship for many years.

Any of this gear is miles in front of the "TC Native" stuff in a Tascam DM24 and a long way ahead of many host based plugins that run in non hardware DSP card accelerated DAW environments.

Maybe mix and match a bit of everything, PC/MAC, DAW, DSP-CARDS, I/O BOXES ... ahhh... The list goes on.

Just a thought.

Rohan.
