Latency issues with MPC and Reason4

I've searched some of the older posts and did not find a solution, so here's my issue. I have my 2000xl synced with Reason 4.0 in order to pull drums and synths into the MPC via s:midi. Now, when I hit a pad, there is a slight sound delay that causes the beat to be off in a sequence. I've adjusted the latency values in Reason, and I've tried to run Reason's metronome with the mpc's metronome, but the sound is still delayed. I'm kind of new to the software thing as I am more of a hardware/midi guy.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It's not the midi sync...its the buffer on your audio card.

I would say switch to ASIO drivers....if you can get your latency to 128 you should be ok.

I've been trying to run reason with an mpc at 256 and found it unusable because of the delay.

I switched the drivers to ASIO and got the latency down to 135 and the sounds are triggering correctly now.
