IS IT WORTH BUYING THE CD DRIVE

Hey Yall,

I wanted to pose this question as Im having head scratching moments.
I'd like your input to help me make a decision on this.


Does anyone have the CD drive installed?
What do you use it for?
How often do you use it
If you bought yours speratey is it worth the money?

I bought a 2500 SE/LE (special edition/limited edition), so it came with the CD drive already installed.

I NEVER use it!

If you plan on sampling directly from audio CD's then it's what you want. If you plan on backing up your projects on cd-roms, then it's what you want.

If you sample from other sources and use the usb cable to transfer/backup files, you'll never use it.

Personally, i don't think it's worth it.

If you want to sample CD's I'd buy a CDJ over the CD drive.

The price of the cd drive pose me to ask the question cuz i think its way overpriced, so it really aint valu for money. as an investment.
I back up / transfer and sample from my pc most of the time so I guess I'll invest in some colour pads or one of them portable mic booths maybe.

i use the cd drive all the time, i don't own a cdj yet and the cd drive hs been handy to have since day dot, for sampling mainly. plus it's nice to hear a sick beat through the cd drive then load your beat afterwards and see if it is worthy.
