The question of the day is...............
"If you have to ask a question, can you really understand the answer?"

I think you should change this to......
"If you have to give an answer, can you really understand the question?"

Ntalec...

I did not post my original topic before I had given it some serious thoughts...

I don't like defending myself...anyway I will do now:

I am 47 years old, I have been making music, using electronic musical equipment since more than 30 years.

I have been a salesman in a musicstore here in The Netherlands for more than 15 years.

I am not asking a silly question before I consider all the other possibilities as quoted by you.

The point is..I get a brand new 5000 in the box....I read the manual....I am no newcomer to this kind of equipment...but yet I am confronted with folders that don't load correctly (in my case), on booting up I sometimes get the announcement "failure loading effects-engine", when connecting the 5000 to my Mac only the compact-flash card shows up as a removable medium and not the harddisk....and there are more minor things...

Well, I think, my first door to knock on would be Akai Professional...

Why would they not answer me?

You just really hurt me with your "LoopmastersNonsense" remark...because like I explained above that is not the only reason I asked Akai for help...

I was just hoping they could give it a try on one of their machines so I could track down the problem...because then I knew if I had some corrupted files or a defective 5000.

All I can say is that my knowledge of equipment like the 5000 is more than enough to ask questions like these.

Regards,

Pieter

Pieter, I know I said that I would check it, but I don't have the folder on my MPC anymore.

Anyway have you tried other samples or is it just the Loopmasters? Have you tried downloading it from the net or like Ntalec said requested an upload from a member? Have yo movedthe folder to another medium? Maybe your file is just corrupt!

And why do you care about the Loopmaster kit? It's not that special.

I've downloaded a copy of the Loopmaster Akai kit. I will check it out

Just checked it. First when I changed the filter type nothing happend, but when I changed the pole I could also change the filter type. After that it didn't happen anymore with single or folder load(i've repeatedly restarded the MPC before loading a sample or folder).

Also when loading a folder I always get full level, even when Full Level isn't activated. This doesn't happen with single sample loading. More users have this problem with the Loopmasers kit. That's why I ditched it I just rememberd.

Just download it again and test it. If it happens to you only with the Loopmasters Akai kit....................well....uh.... just move on????

Hello CoinUp!

Thanks very much for testing it!

I am sort of "glad" that you had the same experience with the "full level" button. I was worried that something was wrong with my MPC...but now I think it may be a software bug of some kind.

Can you tell me where you downloaded these Loopmasters files....so I can give it a try with my machine?

I was just wondering why things didn't work as they should...that makes me curious and I like to understand and solve these things.

But...I am still loving the MPC! It is a great machine and it is exactly what I was looking for!

Once again...many thanks and see you!

No prob! Us Dutch are the coolest people :D

Don't know who's fault it is, but the full level bug only happens with the Akai Loopmasters. I have commercial sample cd's from Loopmasters and don't have that problem or with all my other samples.

Just google MPC5000 loopmasters for a torrent or Rapidshare file.

@OP

Looks like you've found your answer, eventually.

Keep it all in one thread next time, no need for three.
