u can sample cd's
sample sounds off ur phone (if it has a headphone jack)
sample ur tv set

i dunno dude there's a lot of different things u can sample a lot of ppl love vinyl for its sound - if ur gonna get vinyl id suggest getting a good preamp or mixer otherwise ur gonna lose some of the low-end

welcome aboard!

Here's a great sampling idea, keep your MPC hooked up to the component audio out of your dvd player. Then, ready the record screen and watch an Elliot Gould movie.

OR

Hook your MPC up to your computer, and join Netflix. I fell asleep the other night wishing I wasn't too tired to sample Omega Man.

yo i need help.. first i don't have chop on my mpc, does that suck or not i don't even know yet.. i sampled some shit.. made a couple little funky ass crappy beats somhow.. but i have problems.. a.) when i am in program mode and have assigned drum sounds and a trimmed sample to pads and am trying to layer part by part.. how the hell do i erase stuff i don't want in the mix? this is annoying the hell out of me.. do i really have to keep changing the program/sequence name at the top to unused unused unused all the time! Man! i am so frustrated.. but also..oh with the metronome click click click thing.. that thing is so annoying.. how do i make it less loud. it is way too loud it sucks.. i wish that i could call one of you guys on the phone for a little hotline session.. holla

everything you asked is answered in the manual.

as for sampling cds. you can also rip them as wav files on your computer and then use the USB to drag and drop to the mpc. this way, you don't loose any quality going through a/d convertors.

Yeah but wouldn't the wav's be 24bit and need to be converted first ?

only stupid ripping software would rip a CD (16 bit, 44.1kHz) to 24bit ... you aren't going to make it sound any better than the original source, so it would just waste space
