mapping a sample over the pads on the mpc1000

Hi

I'm a newbie using mpc's but learning to use one right now.

Is it possible to map a sample program over the pads so the pads plays different tunings of the sample so I can play different notes of the bass sound program with the pads.

Prefferably one proram so I dont need to create multiple programs with one for each pad at different tunings.

(I dont have JJOS installed)
