IE : What time of day/night are you most productive? Do you find your output changes with the seasons? Is there anything weird you do when working.

I seem to work best in a routine. If I work at the same time of day every day then I get locked in. Between 8-11am is a great time for me. Lots of neurons firing.

And because I don't have AC and live in Texas, I find my work to become more involved during Spring and Fall. Unfortunately I have no way to load or save with my broken Zip drive right now so that is really cramping my style. I am one of the 9% right now, so until that changes I won't have the ends to grab a card reader. But when I do...fya!! ...I hope

And I love to spark one before I get to it. Also working a crossword before hand really seems to limber my mind up a bit. Maybe it's all the weird connections or something but if I work on one for a bit before I begin writing music I find that I am more easily influenced by usually otherwise innocuous sounds/rhythms. Things I might otherwise overlook etc... Maybe that is all psychosomatic, but it seems to work for me!

Of course for anyone who is making a living making music there is a more pressing need to work constantly, but there surely must be preferred times, etc...

I've always been more productive through the night, and I work nights also, so that's when I get the most done.

The crossword bit is interesting... might have try that one.

i dont make shit during the summer...literally maybe 2 beats a summer (may-august)...idk what it is but i find that most of my ideas come in the fall/winter seasons. maybe its because of the time i get to spend inside around my equipment and not out doing w/e.

and usually i make my music either at night or in the EARLY hrs of the morning (12am-5am)

I work whenever I feel I want to. There's no real logic to it, although one important thing I've learned since I started is when NOT to make tunes. Sometimes I'd really push myself and get so frustrated that I wasn't getting the results I wanted. Now I simply let my mind choose for me. A lot of the time I'll turn on a synth just to play around and it'll trigger a new idea.

'Round midnight :D
Or on a sunny afternoon, but I'm better at night( and I feel that it's the same for a lot of people).

I work nights 3 days a week from 6am-6pm with 4 days off.

I tend to work best during the night. Im more productive during fall/winter. During the summer and spring I feel like I need to go outside and soak up the sun and during some of the nights I seem to go out to much. If I know I got to be somewhere or its getting late I dont like starting a beat because usually ill get something ill started and I dont want to stop.

But nights are def my time. Its meditation for me

can be at any time, but only if i feel the drive/urge to do so.. which can come at any time, so cant always make the best of it.. but lately it has been between 10pm and 6am.. simply because im not working now and arent at home during the days

Im really good at halo3 and modern warfare 2 on xbox live..so after I rape a few games and tbag some people I get pumped up and hyped.. then I go to work on music with that I'm a beast at this attitude.. I don't smoke weed or drink while working.. makes you lazy and let's be honest.. things taste and sound better when buzzed...
Edit... I like to work anytime..I do melody sections after midnight.. I like the darkness when composing. It's very intimate and expressive when you dance in the dark.. hehe
