i have used sampletank2, and in my honest opinion it iant all tht. i am using it with a delta410. and the output, seems so thin as compared to the likes of native instruments stuff, or spectrasonics romplers. those instruments rock, another one is called plex. and tht is really tight.
i have this really wierd theory on sampletank stuff. here goes
i beleieve that thier sound only sounds good in a native program, like cubase, cant really explain but nvidia did something similar sometime back with thier video cards, they basically cheated on the tests, so the graphics only look good on what they were used with, native to the program,
when i take the outputs directly out of sampletank into my mixer, i have to go past unity gain on the input, for a decent sound. if i do tht sh*** with native instruments or spectrasonics, i know for sure i would need new speakers.
just my 2 cents.
btw arturia soft synths like like cs 80v, modular soft synth and minimoog v are decent as well. korg also realeasd legacy, pug ins & controller. u get a hardware 3 octave midi keyboard midi -usb controller based on the vintage korg ms20 complete with signal patchbay.
also novation v station.
these are the ones i have played with, and are hard knocking, just make sure u got a decent sound card.
