$1,159 is a fair price, but MPCs are overpriced....so make sure that is what you want.....even though i have one i will tell you it is overpriced.....but it is a great machine....the studio plus has the eb16(effects)card and 8 outs....both is useful....but you can use sound forge to replace the eb 16......but it is still good to have it because it is only $100 more than the studio version.....the studio version has 8 outs.....

I would try e-bay or a local music store man. You can score a studio plus for 1100-1200

A used plain 2000xl goes for about 500.00; No zip drive No 8 outs; No efx card; no smpte.
Now if you could find an efx card; 8 outs; smpte and a zip drive for under 500 u r the man.
Used 8 outs for the 2000/xl is 150 - 200 (as high as 289 brand new)
EB16 efx is 225 used and 350 brand new
Smpte is 95.00 used
Zip drive internal 50.00 used to 89 brand new.
It's smarter to go with a studio plus; it comes with smpte efx card and the eight outs. Some people are selling privately with the zip 250 installed for 1100.00 that's a steal and btw; the 2000xl has already become a classic; it is scarce in many parts of the country and yes; people want that grimey 16 bit sound. (How Ironic) 16 bit is becoming a thing of the past. Sought after like 12 bit machines. !!!!!!!
