2000 LCD in a 2000xl

Is there any difference? Can I just take a working LCD from a 2000 and put it in a XL?

yeah you could and it would work, the problem is that the ribbon cable will be too short.

well maybe if you took the case of the 2000 classic with the display and installed the 2000xl components inside it somehow? I have yet to see that one around here... but maybe it is possible. somehow I suspect that will be very difficult though since I believe the inside of the classic 2000 and the 2000xl are actually layed out different.

And thinking about it... the controls are not the same on the cover... maybe you could come up with some sort of frankenstein of the two machines... or else find a way to extend that ribbon cable.
