I'm thinking of a few possibilities here:
1: Are you deleting the unused bits of samples when you trim them? If you sample a half minute break just to get one snare but don't delete everything before the start point & after the end point of that snare you will be saving a loading a half minute sample, not a half second sample.
2: Maybe there is something wrong with your additional RAM, like it isn't fitted properly or it isn't MPC compatible....so you might have bought the MPC with 32 megs but actually there isn't. However, if your screen says you have 32 megs you should be ok.
Does this happen if you have only one program with just a few samples loaded?
Yes i do delete them. It's just that i load up too many sounds, sequences and pgm's.
I usually use the 2kxl for live gigs, so i my tend to load up tons of files to have a continuous set. But luckily the 2kxl hasn't bailed out on me during live gigs. Most of the crashing incidents took place at home.
I could probably load a chunk in it but i'll jut make sure i leave atleast a meg of RAM when using it for live gigs.
Thanks for the help guys.
