MPC 2ooo potentiometer wiring

I lost sound in the right side out of both the stereo out and the headphone jack, and I took a look at my pots and one of them is bent (recording level)
I figured that since one of the sides isn't playing that one of the pots is wired to the left channel and the other is wired to the right channel
if this is the case which one would need changing?

Turn one down. Then turn the other down.

Whichever one doesn't work is the one to replace.

I tried that but I couldn't hear any noise from either
I was thinking that both of them need to be replaced, but then again I probably need to try again since there was a lotta mothafuuckas in here that night and I couldn't gauge any line noise

I should've read the OP closer. The Rec Lvl pot shouldn't do anything to the OUTPUT, only the REC IN...unless there's something weird about the MPC.

If you really have one channel dead in both spkrs and HPhones then IDK. Amp chip? Something in the right audio path shorted to ground that shouldn't be? If it is both the HDPHN and ROUT then it is upstream from both of those, whatever it is. Def check your MSTR VOL pot, but it's prolly not that...unless the MSTR VOL on the 2000 is a ganged pot.

Do you have an oscilloscope?

Have you an 8 output expansion board? Does that work?

no but this gives me an excuse to get one, I can use it to see where the signal's going dead at

they can take stuff apart but not put it back together

I'm pretty handy but I just got this 2ooo and its a bit different from the 3ooo LE (which I made all the repairs on) and I just wanted to know which steps to take

open it, check for busted wires, check that bent pot, it is probably that man.... poke inside and have a look.

Maybe it wouldn't hurt if you took a pic of the busted thing, you should have you lifting the middle finger at the busted component so we know exactly which thing in the pic you are talking about.

I've opened it and taken all the boards out to get to the pot board, I'll up pics later on when I get to work

i dont know if this is of any help, but recently i lost audio in the right side of my mpc. i found the solution which was by opening the machine, pushing the offending pot downward and then tightening the nut which is around the base of it. worked like a charm!

Most likely with a bent pot like that you probably broke the solder joints to the mainboard.
Heat up a soldering pen/gun and just tap each connection point from the pot to the mainboard. easy peasey...

got it fixed, ordered a new one off mpcstuff because it was a headache just turning the knob with it bent
I think I messed up my headphone jack because now I can't hear anything out of it (I tested my stereo outs on my TV and they both work, I think I need to resolder my jack because I can see where the connection is busted) but honestly I don't give a fok about it since I don't use it much
