Is there a Pad Mute existing?

Hello Folks.

i wonder if there is a Pad Mute in the JJ OS2XL..
because when i play back a recorded Sequence and i have the whole drum sequence recorded into one track i want to mute various samples (pads) as for example the Bassdrum, the Snare, or whatever..

is i know that i can record every Sample in another Track, but what i want to do is to MUTE a specific Pad of a recorded Sequence.. and that should work simple and quick..?

SOrry, when you see and hear this happening in a video it's because someone only recorded one pad to each track, this is the way you have to do it.

so i think this should be a feature request..

do you want to only mute a sample when you hold a pad down, or switch it on/off with one press? you could maybe have a pad without a sample, which you could setup to padmute another one. there are ways around lots of problems

why don't you record each drum and sample on seperate tracks then just use track mute??

Because i can not record on multiple tracks at the same time,...? Cant i

you could try switching tracks while overdub is on, unless you need to hit certain pads at the same time, then i'm not really sure what you'd need to do

Yeah, except don't COPY. After banging out something on a track with multiple pads you then want to MOVE (this copies then deletes the original) a pad to it's own track with MODE+PAD13, EVENTS tab, Edit:MOVE.
Then you can use TRACKMUTE as you wish.

Thx for your answeres but to be honest... Wouldnt it be easier to implement a pad mute for e.g. live performance..

ahh, now you're being lazy! Three people just showed you three different ways to accomplish what you want, but you're like "but I would like for JJ to waste precious code space to automate this process for me...."

nah, I'm just playing, actually it would be cool if you could catch a loop and then start muting/unmuting on the fly, maybe it wouldn't take much space if you could mute/solo individual pads in program edit.

In the Akai OS, doesn't the mixer page control the level of the pads, rather than tracks?

i am not lazy man.. i only wanted some support from experienced users.. i need a good workflow.. so i think when something would be easier it could save you much time..
