I would LOVE to be able to go into grid edit DURING playback, so that notes could be added/deleted from specific points, while the sequence is looping. This would greatly add to the MPC's work flow and improvisatory potential.

quite a few people are interested in having the ability to invert the screen... i don't see why you feel the need to go and call it a waste of time. you commenting against it was a waste of time. it's not like we're asking for a PONG game or something here... just the ability to slightly change the visual aspect of the MPC. no one's gonna force you to use it or like it...

I would like to get to mpc these legendary MPC 3000/60 groove templates (16th and 8th notes).

Thats a good one. The workflow would be so much faster if Cut was added. Definitely a useful feature to have.

ability to choose a midi input for an active track....
just imagine that - you are in sync with another hardware via midi in A and playing notes in the active track with a keyboard from the midi in B without any conflict in case the other hardware is sending notes to midi in A.....

Send MIDI Time Code and MIDI Clock out of 2 different MIDI ports at the same time.
Is this impossible or is it built into the hardware that you can only have EITHER MTC or Midi clock?

I use my mpc as master sequencer because of it's 4 dedicated midi out ports for which to control my many hardware synths and drum machines. But at the same time I want to sync with my PC sequencer in order to do 'on-the-fly' overdubs (I use cubase as a multitrack tape recorder initially).
So, my dilemma is, cubase only syncs to MTC, but my x0xb0x, tr808 and tr606 only sync to midi clock and sync24, but running midi clock out of cubase has proved to be rubbish compared to using the 4 dedicated midi out's coming out of the mpc.

I'd just like to know if it is possible to have midi clock and mtc firing out of the mpc at the same time.
Thanks JJ.

QUICK DELETE FUNCTION!

I know I'm not the only one killing my data wheel when I want to remove sounds from the program. How about a faster way to instantly remove sounds. Like hit the pad (in the program menu) and hit the erase button.
PS. I still use OS1 JJ, so please don't forget about us little people. :)

I don't remember about os1 but in recent JJ OS you have a shortcut to copy a pad quuickly so if it's a blank pad it could be a workaround. Well not as efficient as using a potential ERASE function though.

This

I'm syncing to my master Jomox but it sends out notes for each drum XOXOed. I've had to filter what MIDI the mpc receives. The options are either ALL or 1-16. So, unfortunately, now I can only receive MIDI messages (plus the Jomox's clock) on one channel. Otherwise, like maara, if I'm receiving MIDI on all channels, the active track will get bludgeoned by the Jomox's notes along with the ones I send from a controller keyboard.
