Rule 3. Tracks can be full songs complete with vocals or they may be instrumental. Instrumental submissions must have both rhythmic and melodic content;

I'm not sure about Gertie, Tyrone, Low Tone, Mess, inflict, and Coz- but mine sure as hell do :D

shit, if i knew peeps who would spit over my shit i would have done a full track, but i dont, and the rules did say instrumentals too. maybe next time, lol, this is the first time ive submitted anything for a forum mix-tape. im pretty happy.. hope everyone doesn't cry cause of the instrumentals.. truth be told, i bump the instrumental mpc-forum mix-tape way more then i bump any of the other ones. some times i just want the rapper to be quiet so i can hear the damn beat. anyone else agree?

No one is crying. I'm just saying, over half this shit is instrumentals. This should have just been an all instrumental project honestly. I understand 5 or 6 instros but damn, only 8 complete tracks is a little disappointing. I really don't care, just saying. I'm just interested to see how this all sounds in the end. It's nothin against the people who submitted the instros at all. Of course you're gonna submit them if the rules state. Just saying. Seems like an example of a project being rushed out when not ready IMO. But **** it. I just hope the music is good at least. I know b read brought his A game.

It's a bit early for a post-mortem seeing as it's not even dropped.

I think we can take it that this tape will be less cohesive in some respects than other tapes, but I also think it's better that a good instrumental makes the tape over an average track with vocals.

Clint can only work with what he's been given afterall.

**** you, pussy! The only reason your beats are even allowed is because of dudes like you crying that they have no MC to work with. Don't try to make me out as the one bitching when this whole project is built around bitches bitching, you wanna really keep it real (not just talking this thread)! The whole purpose of this mixtape series is to see dudes going beyond just making beats to making full songs or full productions. Like I said, I have no problem with instros being on the project, but over half of it being instrumentals takes away from the original purpose of this series even being started, "revolution" or not. So quick to call me the cry baby when this project is accommodating people that were actually crying, like you!!

^^ Slight over-reaction there H.

If you want to balance the tape out more then feel free to PM Clint and have him remove your instrumental.

EDIT: Is one of your tracks an instrumental? I can't tell by the way Clint has typed the info. :?

I don't **** care. I said that. I made a simple **** comment and dudes are taking it and running the 50 yard **** dash with it! Dudes is mad wack!

But I don't have an instrumental on there Coz. My two submissions are tracks with vocals.

(sets a pitcher of beer on the table with some mugs)

whooaa let's take a breather here folks and have a beer....

I can see where everyone is coming from but the first page states:

This fifth edition of the Mixtape is intended to showcase production skills, creativity and of course the MPC’s global influence. After all this mixtape series pays homage to the legendary MPC and what it is capable of....in the right hands of course.

So it is fitting that the theme for this edition of the mixtape is REVOLUTION

It's not really mentioned what this one was supposed to be...full of songs with emcees, full instrohs'- nada. Showcasing production skills and creativity with the mpc's though! That's what we all wanna do, with someone on the mic or not- I think we should set our own personal visions of what the project "should be" aside, and see what Clint has up his sleeve

Whaddya say?

whoooa

I'm sure to balance it more there ppl that turned in 3 could be knocked to only one entry. Nothing against anyone, but I'm sure that might help.

From 21 to 15 tracks...maybe>?

At this point, I wouldn't take anyones tracks off. It would be kinda **** up for a guy to have his shit removed just because I made a comment. But damn, I do have to right to make a comment without someone saying I'm crying right? No one called dudes cry babies when they were saying they had no vocalists. Show some **** respect to a forum OG up in this ****!! You know?! Seriously though, that's all I'm saying!
