Is input thru analog or digital?

Hello,

I've been unable to find this in the manual or searching online.

Does the audio signal that passes through the MPC 1000 in 'Input Thru' mode stay in the analog domain or does it undergo A/D and D/A?

Obviously if the input thru is sent to FX then those will be digital! But I am wondering if the 'dry' signal remains analog or digital.

I am thinking of running a small line mixer of analog synths into the MPC but would be less inclined to do so if there was unnecessary AD/DA - even if it is a bit 'anal' - sounds OK on my small (cheap) monitors now, but on big systems? I am an analog nut.

I dont think its passive. Most likely uses the converters.

Thanks... Took it into the studio and not really sure I could hear a difference anyway! Just curious I guess.
