So i got a new drive to replace my old but working unit. I was going to replace my old one because the eject button is broken but the drive still works. So i try this new one my dad gave me and i realize its a slightly different model that doesnt have the same connection type in the back.. SO i re-connect the old unit and now the 3k wont recognize it. WTF? ive tried adjusting the little switches on the back and all combos i can think of but still nothing..ITs got me iriate since the thing worked a few mins ago but now nothing??? WTF? no click of death, just refuses to recognise the iomega drive now. ANYBODY?????

You'd need to give us more information like which make and model of Zip drive it is. And did you actually hook up the other drive and power on your MPC3000? If you did and it wasn't a SCSI drive, you could have blown the SCSI fuse.

if the eject broke, then shove a paper clip in the small hole on the back

its an iomega 100 that i tried to plug in, the one i had that WAS working is a iomega 250. i tried out of desperation both the ports on the back but that was after it wasnt working as it did before. I never connected the other zip drive, it cant connect...

You mean that you were plugging and unplugging drives into the MPC3000 while it was powered on? That is one of the cardinal rules of SCSI: never attach or remove a SCSI drive while the sampler is powered on. Also never power on or off a SCSI drive while it is attached to the sampler and the sampler is powered on. You can blow the SCSI fuse easily doing any of those things.

hmmm, ok. its wierd because the zip drive will "spin' occasionally when i try to activate the drive but it doesnt become active.. so it seems like its trying to worrk..
