MPC 1K JJOS 1: Pads/Tracks keep canceling each other out.

Not sure if the title made any sense, but here a bit of a better description:

When I have a sample playing and I try to put drums over it, the sample is cancelled. Same goes for any pad. I've also had the loop playing and tried to add the samples on a separate track, but it still happens.

It wasn't doing this until I reset to the factory setting and pulled some samples off the memory card.

Thanks for the reply. Could you explain to me how being in mono makes a difference and how to go about changing it to work right?

it's in the manual

setting the program to MONO means only one sample can play at a time, so the difference it makes is it causes the problem you're having!

if you want multiple samples to play at once you need the program set to POLY

if you already have that, you might be maxing out your polyphony, only 32 samples can play at once even with the program set to POLY
