I think clint deserves a lil respect, he is in charge of this one, lets see how it comes out. although i wish it was only instrumentals,i get tired of hearing cats talk a bunch of stuff over beats, but its all good.

I know dude! I'm just saying, this is the internet. Meaning, I can't see your face and I don't know your personality yet. So it's hard to tell when a dude is jokin without certain signs when you don't know him. So it's all good g! But your shit better be hot on this edition!

lol.. i hope u guys like my shit. I do, but the track i liked the most didnt get picked, lol, it was a bit repetitive though, would have been a good track for someone to flow over.

so clint, whats up, no BG on this one?? man, you guys really had a field day with that shit..

"4. You must use an MPC to sequence your drums and at least one other component of the track. This could be the programming of chopped samples, the vocal edits the lead instrument, the melody or the hook. "

BG jumped ship...I'm sure if there's ever a "guitar" volume, he'd have a few on there 8)

There is a diverse crowd here on the forums and it appears that there is room for more then just typical hip hop... and it appears people around here like plenty of music genres outside of hip hop as well as hip hop..

Thats why I asked earlier if this mixtape has anything other than Hip Hop?
Looking at the tracklisting I would only think Coz and Gertie fall under that since I have never heard their music.

B.Read can be very funky but I would still categorize him under Hip Hop.

I never recall seeing any of the additions banning any type of genre, language or region. Matter is that people are just not submitting.

And when I did Volume 4 with DStruct I actually PMd alot of people from other countries hoping to get something from different countrys. I remember hunting down JMessy but fam was too busy.

damaga wrote:so, jus for my understandin.....if i put an acapella on top of an instrumental then its a complete beat?

so if u dont have an acapella from jay z then u submit to symphony sounds tape

or u put a jay z acapella on top then its the REAL DEAL and worthy of the mixtape legacy? (cos it shows you got REEEL production skills  )

You should really read the original post to these mixtape threads to get more of an understanding.

Symphony Sounds is and always will be "instrumentals only". No matter what genre

Second. Just because somebody makes a song and submits it, it doesnt mean it will make the cut. Not sure about Clint but I would assume he did the same like all the previous EP's... They would only chose the best tracks. Obviously anything soundind terrible would not make the cut.

Third. All music must be original. So having a Jay Z acapella on your beat would not fit the createria.

DJ Hellfire wrote:We even outlined this on the Symphony Sounds rules and 99.5% of the submissions we got were hiphop. So it's dudes from the other genres that really need to step up! This convo comes up after every release and they still never submit next go round! So we we'll see!

+10

I was seriously surprised when we did Symphony Sounds because it was all really Hip Hop. Thats all we received...

I was thinking that the other genres would come in to play here. Open invitation for everyone and all the Hip Hop heads showed up. I know a few heads even did beats out their norm which was pretty cool.

Put it this way, I wasn't about to hit up the tape with a weird Ambient/Jungle/Breakcore track! I'll keep the self-indulgent shit for myself.

All I wanted to do was make something that heads on here might actually like and would also fit the theme of this tape and the ethos of the others.

Sounds like we have ourselves another mixtape with nothing but Hip Hop.
Can Gertie save the day???
